Welcome to Unity by the River website!

Since we opened our doors January 20, 2008, we have been blessed with those who come to learn and celebrate the Christ within, as we know in Unity. Â This is our mission, to be a catalyst for each person to realize their divine inheritance and all that it brings--joy, prosperity, healing and an awareness of God within.

We currently have about 25 adults and 15 children who regularly attend our 10 am service and we continue to grow each week. We provide a youth lesson within the service and youth education during the rest of the service. The Youth ministry is teaching about the wonderful gifts God gives us, concentrating on the "power" for the month. Last month was Strength, and this month is Wisdom. The youth also participate in our service on the 5th Sunday of a month, known as "Family Sunday". We were blessed with a 5 stringed instrument youth performance of Allegro on the fifth Sunday of March.

One service a month we are devoting to another religion, culture or philosophy and following up with potluck which represents the belief or culture. So far, we have celebrated Kwanzaa with a Karamu feast and a Jewish Passover Seder on Palm Sunday. April 27th we will be having a Native American Spirituality service and potluck. Each person is responsible for creating peace in our world, and peace comes from knowledge of another's belief system, to promote understanding among us.

We also hold classes on Wednesday nights, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. We just completed Lessons in Truth, and will be beginning Life of Prayer, Part A, April 16, for the next 5 weeks and beginning First Friday Movies, May 3rd with Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life".

Some other events coming up that you may want to come and see us, is May 17 is "Marietta Day's" where the streets are closed up for a grand fair of tables that each presents items representative of who they are. We are in the planning stages of the event, but have decided we will have "Affirmation Jewelry" for sale, and free refreshments. Also, that day PSU Drama group is presenting "Godspell" in the extended building of Marietta Community House with performances at 1 and 4 pm. And there is the Marietta carnival with fireworks, June 27th. We are considering showing a movie the Friday before, to kick off the event.

I also officiate Celebration of Life services and spiritual counseling on a love offering basis.

Why not join us one Sunday...our doors are open to all.

In gratitude and love,
